Frozen Mist - Burning Leaves Of Grief

As I walked alone this path leads my way
My heart lies so bleak as this autumn's day.
My eyes close with memories of disbelief
The smell of leaves burning in grief.

They fall softly in shades of rosemoor
These beautiful leaves I have seen before,
Their colors so bright in orange and gold
Gathered in hues longing death near to cold.

Could this be the passionate love for me?
Nature's born into fallen rust for eternity.
Succulent moments a predecessor to dust
This life I dream forever in pale lust.

You hear me speak in notes of grief
I stare at that falling burning leaf.
The tears pour down my sullen eyes
Wicked thoughts arise, they never die.

Burning leaves of grief!
Memories never deceived!

Thru the cold winters chill there comes the spring
Beauty sheds the new flowers they bring.
Where autumns leaves fell, the foliage returns
They glisten in green for me to burn.

But tomorrow's grief will never stay the same
Our memories of the past lie far away.
We live the moment of now, it is to be.
This beauty lies in the leaves we see.
